- Who are you?
My name is Kathryn, but I acquired the nickname Kathy a couple of years ago for my slightly sassier alter ego that appears after half a glass of wine. I’m a 23 year old New Jerseyan currently trying to concoct a life plan. I adore books, shopping, and dancing and I think about food for a huge portion of every day. Most people assume that I’m approximately five years younger than I actually am, but that doesn’t stop old men from chatting me up at the gym. And did I mention that I really like to eat? And that I have trouble telling stories in a linear fashion?
- How would you describe your blog?
Well, to be honest it’s a bit of an ADD-esque jumble, which is appropriate for me - I have a lot of interests and a lot to say. It’s a whole slew of observations, anecdotes about daily life, book reviews, photos, and quotes. Be prepared to deal with my kitchen and bookshelf fetish, and an unbearable number of pictures of my boyfriend’s adorable new kitties!
- Why do you blog?
Basically, I have a lot to say. I like a lot of things, and this is a place to store them. Plus, as an aspiring writer, I think blogging is a really wonderful way of forcing yourself to write on a regular basis, without the pressure of time and/or subject matter constraints.
- What blogs do you love?
Oh my. Have I mentioned that I’m a wee bit of a blog addict? I read an embarrassing number of blogs everyday (even my Internet-addicted boyfriend is disturbed by the amount of time I spend online) but a few of my favorites are: simply breakfast (the first blog I started reading!), A Cup of Jo, Dooce, Design Sponge, and {frolic!}.
- What’s something interesting about you that has nothing to do with blogging?
I’m currently in the process of a never-ending job hunt. It is not the best time to job hunt. I’m sick of job hunting. Won’t someone please give me a job? I would like it to be in NYC. And to pay a lot of money. And to not take up a whole lot of time. And I don’t really want to sit at a desk all day, because, if truth be told, I get painfully claustrophobic, and at my last job I often considered jumping out of the 25th floor window. That’s not asking too much, right? Thanks!
- Which 5 of your posts would you recommend for new readers to start with?
This is tough because, as I mentioned, I have a pretty wide range of topics and ramblings and stuff on my blog. But, to get a little bit of the flavor, you can try these:
For a little bit of an introduction, for a little bit of my daily life, for a little bit of kitty cuteness overload, for a little bit of my Rutgers/football obsession, and for a little bit of my perpetual public transportation trauma. And that, my friends, is just the beginning!
